Estate & Campus Operations Manager

📍 North London (on-site, 5 days per week)

💼 3-month contract (with strong potential to go permanent)

💰 £55,000–£60,000

We’re delighted to be partnering with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (RCSSD) on a key hire within their Estates team.

This is a pivotal, hands-on role at the heart of a dynamic and creative campus environment. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day estates and campus operations, playing a critical role in ensuring the estate runs efficiently, safely, and in line with high standards of service delivery.

This is not a “sit back and manage” role.

You’ll be stepping into a fast-paced, highly visible position where you’ll need to be proactive, hands-on, and fully embedded in the team—someone who rolls up their sleeves and gets things done.

A major estate-wide survey has just been completed, and this will form your immediate focus. You’ll take this live document and translate it into a clear, deliverable maintenance and improvement plan, managing priorities across a diverse and complex campus (13,000 sqm).

Your remit will include:

  • Leading operational estates delivery across maintenance, compliance, contractors, and facilities
  • Driving a Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programme informed by real data and asset insights
  • Managing health & safety, fire compliance, accessibility, and statutory reporting
  • Overseeing contractors and performance against SLAs/KPIs
  • Supporting delivery of maintenance-linked projects (e.g. access control, infrastructure upgrades)
  • Managing estate data, CAD systems, and asset information to improve decision-making
  • Contributing to space utilisation, sustainability, and carbon reduction initiatives

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Brings strong estates/facilities management experience in a complex environment
  • Is hands-on and operationally excellent—not afraid to get into the detail
  • Has a solid understanding of building systems (mechanical/electrical) and can spot issues early
  • Is highly productive, outcomes-focused, and thrives in a busy, delivery-driven environment
  • Has the attitude and ambition to grow with the role

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to make a tangible impact in a respected and creative institution—with the chance to shape the role and secure something permanent.

If you’re ready to step into a role where attitude, ownership, and delivery really matter, we’d love to hear from you. Please email your CV and cover letter to Simone Loxton: simone@memcom.org.uk by 5pm on the 3rd of May.
