We are working with a well-established UK professional regulatory body who is seeking an experienced Examinations Manager to lead the delivery and ongoing development of its professional assessment activities.

This is an opportunity for someone with a strong background in examinations and assessment to take ownership of a specialist function, ensuring assessments are delivered effectively, consistently and to the highest standards.

The Role

Working closely with senior colleagues and external specialists, you will be responsible for overseeing the full examination lifecycle, from planning and development through to delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the planning, coordination and successful delivery of professional examinations and assessments.
  • Overseeing the development and review of assessment materials, ensuring they remain relevant, consistent and fit for purpose.
  • Maintaining effective processes for assessment quality, fairness and consistency.
  • Working with subject specialists and external partners to support assessment development and delivery.
  • Reviewing examination outcomes, analysing performance data and preparing reports.
  • Coordinating training and guidance for those involved in assessment delivery.
  • Managing and supporting a small team, ensuring activities are delivered to agreed standards and deadlines.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and the overall assessment experience.

About You

We are looking for an experienced examinations or assessment professional who brings both technical expertise and strong organisational skills.

You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience in the management and delivery of formal examinations or professional assessments.
  • A sound understanding of assessment design, standard setting and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of the principles that underpin fair, reliable and effective assessment.
  • Experience working with different assessment formats, including written and practical assessments.
  • Confidence working with examination data, preparing reports and communicating findings.
  • Strong stakeholder management, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supervising colleagues or coordinating teams.
  • Experience within a professional body, education provider, awarding organisation or similar environment would be particularly relevant.

Working Arrangements

This position offers considerable flexibility, with predominantly home-based working and occasional attendance at a London office for meetings and collaboration. Some UK travel will be required.

If you have a strong background in examinations and assessment and are looking for a role offering responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution, we would welcome your application. To apply, please send your CV and cover letter to: simone@memcom.org.uk
