Business Development Executive (New Business & Growth Support)

Salary: c. £35K + bonus
This role supports Memcom’s growth by identifying, developing and progressing new business opportunities across sponsorship, recruitment and membership services.
Working closely with the Executive Director, Commercial & Partnerships and wider colleagues, the position focuses on research, outreach, pipeline coordination and early-stage relationship management. It offers exposure to the full commercial lifecycle within a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
New Business Research & Lead Generation
- Research prospective clients across membership organisations, professional bodies and related sectors
- Identify organisations that may benefit from Memcom’s services
- Monitor sector trends, events and announcements to spot opportunities
- Attend events to support lead generation and relationship building
Pipeline & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate prospect and contact records within the CRM
- Support development of a structured business development pipeline
- Track opportunity progress and ensure timely follow-ups
- Prepare briefing notes for senior colleagues ahead of meetings
Outreach & Relationship Support
- Conduct initial outreach via email, LinkedIn and events
- Arrange introductory meetings and calls
- Participate in early-stage discussions where appropriate
- Maintain contact with warm leads to progress opportunities
Proposals & Commercial Support
- Assist in preparing proposals, presentations and supporting materials
- Tailor content to reflect client needs across services
- Support contract administration, handover to delivery teams and invoicing coordination
Account Development & Collaboration
- Support management of newer or smaller client relationships
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across Memcom services
- Share client insights internally to encourage joined-up working
- Collaborate with recruitment, events, marketing and consultancy teams
- Provide flexible support within a small team
