Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Director of People & Organisational Development to provide strategic leadership across their People function during a key period of organisational delivery and transformation.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for shaping and driving the organisation’s people strategy, ensuring the workforce, culture, and organisational design support both current operations and future ambitions. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will lead the internal People agenda, champion organisational development and support the delivery of strategic objectives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the organisation’s People and organisational development agenda.
- Shape and deliver workforce planning, organisational design and culture initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
- Partner with senior leaders to drive organisational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop the People/Operations team, ensuring effective delivery of services and initiatives.
- Champion inclusion, equality, and diversity across the organisation.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employee representatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Support operational leadership and deputise for the Chief Operating Officer when required.
Person Profile
We are looking for a strategic HR leader who brings both operational credibility and strong organisational development expertise.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Significant senior HR leadership experience at Director or equivalent level.
- A strong track record in organisational development, cultural change and transformation.
- Experience working in complex or unionised environments.
- Deep knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
- The ability to operate strategically while also supporting operational delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- CIPD Level 7 qualification and membership of the CIPD.
