The Infection Prevention Society (IPS) is seeking an enthusiastic Education and Events Executive to work with the Education and Events Manager in spearheading their dynamic events and education portfolio. As a membership organisation dedicated to advancing infection prevention and control (IPC), the IPS is at the forefront of safeguarding public health in health and care settings.


About Us: The Infection Prevention Society (IPS) is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of infection prevention and control (IPC) in health and care settings. We are a supportive network for IPC practitioners, offering education and training to our 2,400 members across the UK and internationally. As we launch our new strategy, "Working Together to Prevent Infection," we aim to support our members, improve IPC practices, and influence education and policy.


Position Overview: Join us at a transformative time as we expand our team to enhance our educational and events portfolio. The Education and Events Executive will work closely with the Education and Events Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute up to 20 educational events annually, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats. This role is integral to advancing IPC knowledge and best practices.


Key Responsibilities:


Educational Programme Development:

  • Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive educational programme aligned with IPS objectives.
  • Produce and develop educational materials and resources.
  • Promote and communicate IPS courses and educational materials.


Event Planning and Execution:

  • Plan and execute educational programmes, conferences, workshops, and webinars.
  • Serve as the point of contact for regional volunteers, ensuring high-quality IPS events.
  • Manage event logistics, including venue management, online registration, and sponsor engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for successful event delivery.
  • Engage with sponsors, speakers, and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction.


Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for educational programmes and events to achieve financial targets.
  • Monitor budgets, expenses, and revenue consistently.


Marketing & Communications:

  • Help devise marketing and communications strategies for educational and event outputs.
  • Manage the Society’s marketing and social media strategies related to events and education.
  • Update the events and education sections of the Society’s website.
  • Disseminate marketing materials to regional volunteers.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Research potential sponsors and partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with relevant organisations to expand IPS educational initiatives.
  • Assist with the development of individual event budgets.




Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (education, event management, healthcare, etc.).
  • Proven experience in planning and managing educational resources and events, preferably within a healthcare or professional association sector.
  • Excellent project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial and budgetary management experience.
  • Experience managing resources, workloads, and deadlines.
