About the role

We’re seeking a commercially driven Head of Business Development to lead revenue growth across a global, purpose-led membership organisation and professional body.

This is a senior role with responsibility for shaping and delivering the commercial strategy across membership, partnerships, and products, while leading and developing a high-performing team.


What you’ll be doing:

Strategic leadership & growth

  • Define and deliver a global business development strategy aligned to organisational priorities
  • Contribute to overall strategy as a member of the senior leadership team
  • Lead commercial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and pipeline management
  • Ensure a compelling, market-led portfolio of products and services

Revenue generation & business development

  • Own and deliver ambitious revenue targets across multiple income streams
  • Build and manage a strong global pipeline, driving new business and growth
  • Lead strategic sales activity, including key accounts and high-value partnerships
  • Identify and launch new commercial opportunities, products, and services
  • Develop pricing and go-to-market strategies to maximise impact
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team

Stakeholder engagement & partnerships

  • Build and maintain senior relationships with global stakeholders and partners
  • Drive retention, renewal, and long-term value through strategic account management
  • Expand international reach through partnerships and collaborations

Marketing, data & performance

  • Partner with marketing to generate demand and support revenue growth
  • Use CRM systems and data insights to track performance and optimise activity
  • Drive a data-led, results-focused commercial culture

Representation & profile

  • Act as a senior ambassador at events, conferences, and industry forums
  • Strengthen organisational reputation and influence within the sector


About you

  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth in a membership or B2B environment
  • Strong experience in business development, partnerships, and commercial strategy
  • Confident leading teams and operating at a senior level
  • Commercially astute, data-driven, and results-focused
  • Experience working internationally is a plus
